Whether it be a solar charge controller or a marine grade converter, our customers want to know if their device will work to charge our batteries.
We do our absolute best to test every charger we can, and by doing so, we have created this charger compatibility table of products we know work well with our batteries. If your charger isnโt on this list, please give us a call at (855) 292-2931 or [email protected] and we will work on an answer together.
A green bar indicates that all of that category (Charger, Inverter Charger, or Solar Charge Controller) work with Battle Born Batteries.

Will the Zamp ZS-30A charge controller work with these? My inverter is a WFCO WF-5100. Thanks!
Great question Raul.
Does your Zamp have a lithium option on it? some do and some do not.
WFCO converters work great with our batteries!
Yes, it has a LiFePo4 setting. I just couldn’t find the various charging settings in the manual. I have a 2017 Airstream pre wired for solar and 4 100 watt flex solar panels.
My apologies, my Inverter is the WFCO WF-5100, my Converter is the Parallax 5350 (not sure if it has the TempAssure upgrade).
Are your batteries compatible with my
CTEK D250s dc to dc charger?
Hello Steven,
Unfortunately the Temperature compensation that is built into the unit doesn’t do great with our batteries.
Hello Will,
I realize this answer is a couple of years old. Does the CTEK 250SE do any better? It is rated for charging lithium batteries.
Hi Bryn, thanks for reaching out! While the CTEK has a lithium setting, it will get our batteries to a 14.2v (which is on the our lower end of settings). If you have any other questions, please give us a call at 855-292-2831.
I’m using a Blue Sky Energy Solar Boost 2000E currently. Will this work?
Carl,
Thank you for the question. We have reached out to Blue Sky and asked about this controller. Just waiting to hear back.
Battle Born Batteries
Carl
I spoke to Blue Sky. You would have to upgrade to the 3000 Solar Boost unit. It has a better profile for lithium and it is a drop in replacement for the one you have now.
The rep there Ryan, said you can reach out to him if needed. Here is his number 760-208-2149.
Let us know how else we can help.
Can you confirm that the Outback Radian series is compatible with the BB100? It’s a popular unit, and I notice the solar controllers are compatible. Thanks.
Jeff, Thanks for the question. You can use the Outback Radian with our batteries. But you do need to use a softstart to energize the capacitors in that inverter. What size and model are you using? Can you email us at [email protected] we can continue there. Thanks.
Will Precision Circuits LI-BIM work with the Battle Born Batteries? I called Precision Circuits and they indicated they’ve only tested with a competitor of yours.
David,
We were involved in the design of that new model, it will definitely work with our batteries.
Thanks
I have Progressive Dynamics 9200 Series. (1) Can I just drop in Battle Born 100Ah replacements for my AGM battery? (2) Does it need any reprogramming? The charger says: “Input: 105-130 VAC, 725 Watts. Output: 13 VDC, 45 Amp.” 13.6 VDC seems more like a float voltage, which elsewhere, this site says is not used by the LiFePO4 batteries. (3) If I can drop in BB 100Ah replacements, is there a limit to how many 100Ah BB LiFePO4 batteries I could add? 45 Amp seems kind of low for recharging. I have a 2015 Winnebago Trend 23L. (4) Is there a charger/inverter that might make more sense for me to use in place of the PD9200?
Dave,
This converter will not hurt the batteries. However it will not charge them as quickly or completely. Sometimes if you have enough solar you can use that to make up the full charge difference. Progressive Dynamics does make a replacement unit for that one, that is specific for lithium. It will charge faster and 100%. Please give us a call we can discuss all of the above.

Following “Love Your RV” you tube and website – he indicates that when a charge wizard dongle is present and the over ride button is pushed it charges his LION 3 100 amp batteries up to full charge, he has the 60 amp version. He does mainly charge with solar but as back up the charge wizard dongle type Progessive converter/chargers seem to work.
Has Battle Born heard and/or tested that situation?
Hi Stephen, thanks for reaching out. As for testing, our team has worked with the PD9160 with the pendant and it works great. When you press the “boost/charge wizard” button it will bring the batteries up to 14.4v for about 4 hours and then go back into the normal mode. Please let us know if you have any questions and have a great rest of your day.
Will the 4 hours at 14.4 hurt or possibly overcharge a Battleborn battery? Does the converter/charger supply max amps until fully charged then return to Normal mode even if shorter than 4 hours?
Hey Stephen! No, it will only go 4 hours if the batteries require it and it will not overcharge the batteries. No risk in overcharging our batteries with the Progressive dynamics units.
We have a WFCO WF-68100A that also has a Bulk mode button that claims it will run 14.4v for 4 hours. Can you tell us if this mode will reduce voltage if the batteries overcharge?
Weโre running the 100a charger on two 100ah batteries. Is that too much amperage for these batteries?
Thank you in advance.
Hi Scott, thanks for your patience. I have passed along your email address to our sales and tech team and one of our specialists should be reaching out shortly. Thank you again and have a great rest of your day!
Brian,
WFCO chargers work great with our batteries. The charger should at least have a 14.4V bulk and a float of 13.6V or lower. From my knowledge I believe the WFCO 9855 provides 14.4V bulk, and 13.2V Float which would be great for our batteries! However for a boost in charging just make sure you drop the batteries down to a 12.2V but there is also a replacement that would help with that. Thanks. If you have any other questions, please let us know. Our phone is 855-292-2831, Have a great week!
Hi I have 2- 50 watt Renogy panels with an EP solar PWM viewstar vs1024bn solar charge controller. Will this work with my 100 Ah LiFePO4?
Thanks
Curt
Hi Curt,
I’ve taken a look at the manual for the solar charge controller, it looks like you can set customized setting so we would just recommend putting the equalization charge on OFF or the lowest voltage possible. Boost Charge: 14.4
Float: 13.6 and you should be good thanks! If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call us 855-292-2831.
I have a WFCO 8735 that I bought for a van build. Since then, my husband has asked that I include heavier draw appliances in the build, so I am considering 3 of your 100 AHr batteries. Will the converter damage the lithium batteries, or can I use it safely? Thank you!
Hello Shari,
That converter will charge our batteries but it won’t fully charge them. If you have other means of charging such as solar, or through the alternator you would be able to top off the batteries and get them to a full charge that way. Otherwise, you will want to upgrade so you can get a full charge. We sell the progressive dynamics converters, they are on our website under battery chargers.
Curious about your experience with the Schneider SW 4024, and the MPPT 60 150 (2). My solar charging amps can easily exceed 50 amps output – peaks at 60. What’s the compatibility with your 24v 50ah battery – I was considering 2 in parallel.
I am also looking at adding another 3000 watts of AC coupled solar charging down the line.
All input appreciated.
Thanks, Bill B.
(off grid for 30 years now)
Hello William,
The Schneider SW 4024 should be configured to these specs for use with our 24 volt 50ah batteries:
Bulk/absorption range 28.4-29.2 volts
Float 27.2 or lower
Equalization should be turned off
Keep in mind that our batteries should be charged at a .5c rate and for these batteries it is recommended at 25 amps per battery. In your case the 60 amp peak will not cause any harm to the batteries and this barely exceeds the .5c charge rate for two batteries.
3000 watts of solar is a large system and you will want to make sure your charge controller can handle the voltage and amperage maximums.
We hope this helps but please dont hesitate to get in touch with us for any reason.
Hello
Just want to know if the
Progressive dynamics 45amp lithium
Charger will be good enough to
Charge 2 100amp battle Bornโs .
Or should I go up to 65amp and change
Wireing.
Thanks
Hi Chris,
The 45 amp charger will bring a nearly empty battle born battery up to full in just over 2 hours and the 65 amp in about an hour and a half. Just make sure that your wire gauge is thick enough to handle the amperage and you are all set. The choice for how fast you would like to charge is up to you.
Thank you,
Will the boondocker 1260L work well with your battery?
Hi Paul,
Yes, the boondocker will work well with our batteries, we recommend that it is set to the fixed output and 14.4 or 14.6 volts.
Thanks,
Can we connect 2 compatible charge controllers from separate solar arrays?
Hi Elbow, you can definitely purchase two smaller controllers and hook them up in parallel. Youโll just want to make sure that you purchase two of the same type and that you upload the same settings to the two devices. When they are hooked up in parallel they should be able to synchronize to the extent that they will not ‘fight’ one another. One device is likely to reach float voltage a few minutes before another, but this is perfectly normal behavior for this type of setup and will not negatively impact your system. If you use a device such as the, Color Control GX or the Venus GX, they will show up as a generic unit on the main screen where you see an overview of your system and if you click on your devices list you will be able to see the two individual units and their specifications/data.
Hi I see you have Minn Kota on your list but I want to make sure the 440PC Model will work on your batteries without any issues before I spend close to 3K on your batteries ?
Hi Bryan, Yes the Minn Kota 440PC will work perfectly for our batteries on the AGM setting. When looking for compatibility on charger we just make sure that the absorption/charging voltage is between 14.2-14.6 and the float voltage is 13.6 or lower. If you have any other questions please give us a call. Thank you!
Is it safe to assume the Minnkota precision 460PC will work also?
Dave,
Yes. The precision 460 PC will work great.
MY RV has a Parallax 8345 not temperature compensated. What SOC will it achieve if plugged in as a drop in? How long will it take for that?
Just weighing the additional cost of an upgrade.
Thanks in advance!
Hi Miguel,
The parallax only applies a voltage of around 13.4-13.8v and it would take 7 to 10 times longer to charge the batteries than if you had a proper lithium charger. You may or may not ever see an SOC of 100%.
Thanks,
What model of charger/converter would you recommend for charging 1 100ah battle born battery? Also, I may want to add another 100ah battery later. Is there a charger/converter that will do well charging 1 or 2 of your batteries?
Thank you in advance!
Hi Jon,
Our recommended charge rate is .5c or lower so the Progressive dynamics 30 or 45 amp charger is a great choice for 1 or 2 of our batteries. The higher the amperage the quicker you will charge.
Thanks,
Hi, would the Renogy B2B charger work by charging my single BB 100Ah 12V battery? Does it have the correct Lithium charge profile? And would you recommend the 20A or 40A version?
https://www.amazon.com/Renogy-Battery-Batteries-Multi-stage-Charging/dp/B07Q5VYPCF/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ref_=bl_dp_s_web_6815984011&linkCode=sl1&tag=websiteforums-20&linkId=06a72e14757a36f3b1835b7054eaa44f&language=en_US
Second question, is there a 110v charger/maintainer that would work for topping off the battery while it’s not being used? Or should this be stored at a specific state of charge while it just sits? I have these 12V 3A Battery Tenders from Costco that I use for regular batteries. Would those be bad for a short duration top off?
Hi Wei,
We haven’t tested this unit yet but it does have the correct profile for charging the BB 100Ah 12V battery. Either amperage work great it would all depend on how fast you want your battery to charge.
There is no reason to keep a trickle charge on our batteries. We recommend to bring the battery to full SOC and then store, you would see a very small amount of dissipation during the storage period.
Can I effectively charge a battleborn 100ah with my MPPT EPEVER TRACER 20a charge controller?

Hope this helps, thanks!
I have a Go Power IC3000 Inverter/charger. just installed three of your 12v 100 amp hour batteries, what should the settings be on my charger? I know I have to use the custom settings.
Thanks.
Hi Sean,
Here are our charging parameters for our batteries:
Bulk/absorb 14.2 – 14.6 Volts(14.4 is great)
float 13.6 Volts or lower
No equalization(or set it to 14.4v), no temperature compensation and absorption time is 20-30 minutes per battery(if its an option).
Hope this helps, thanks.
I have 2 of your 100ah batteries, can is use an ordinary car charger to charge these batteries
thank you
Hi Robert,
In order to properly charge our batteries you will need a charger with these parameters:
Bulk/absorb 14.2 – 14.6 Volts
float 13.6 Volts or lower
No equalization(or set it to 14.4v), no temperature compensation and absorption time is 20-30 minutes per battery(if its an option).
You can always give us a call or email us with the model # of the charger and we can tell you if it is compatable.
Thanks,
Any experience with the Samlex inverter/chargers? I believe I have the 4024.
Thanks
Hey Eric, thanks for reaching out! Samlex chargers work well with our batteries, and the bulk, absorption and float settings just need to be adjusted. You can call and talk to one of our tech experts at 855-292-2831 to get the specific charging parameters for your 4024.
I have a Samlex SEC-1230UL and Battle Born 100Ah battery. Talked with Samlex tech who stated the Samlex charger would work well with the Battle Born or Renogy LiFePO batteries although not in their literature. What is your opinion?
Hi Jay, the Samlex charger works well with our batteries. The bulk, absorption and float settings just need to be adjusted. Please call into to one of our tech experts at 855-292-2831 to get the specific charging parameters. Thank you for reaching out!
Will the battery tender plus work with Battleborn batteries — at least for getting started? Or will I need to buy a new charger right from day 1?
Hi Paul, thanks for reaching out! We recommend using a charger so the batteries charge to 14.4 and have a proper internal balance. We recommend this charger because it’s simple and effective: https://battlebornbatteries.com/product/blue-smart-ip65-charger-12-15/
We have a WFCO-9865 converter currently. I’d like to move to at least one lithium battery but probably two. Will this converter work in this scenario? I know it’s not advisable to use different age lead acid batteries together but is that the case with lithium? I’d like to buy the batteries over a period of time if possible. Thank you!
Hi Derek, thanks for reaching out! It seems like this converter might be a little low when it comes to the absorption mode. We recommend the WF-9850L2 which is also from WFCO or this option on our website, found here. As for using and adding batteries, we recommend adding new ones every 2-3 years depending on usage.
Some of the comments to this blog are missing, from May 2, 2019 to August 15, 2020. I have a text copy of a post about my inverter from July 5, 2019. I came back here to see if there was more information, and now I see it is missing.
Hi Leonard, thanks for bringing this to our attention. We recently launched a new website so it’s possible some data was lost in the migration. We will look into it, but in the meantime if you have any questions about your charger’s compatibility with our batteries our team would happily walk you through the specs. feel free to email us at [email protected] or give one of our techs a call at 855-292-2831.
Hello I have a replacement converter in my RV (PD4655L) and I also have the PD9130 charger. I was wondering if I hooked both up to 2 x BB 100Ah batteries would this be too much input amperage? I realize the built-in converter wouldn’t get near 55amps due to cabling length/size to batteries, but the 30amps would be directly connected. I am looking to limit generator charge time while boondocking. And what about 1 battery would it take that many charging amps? I would be using the “boost” function of both chargers.
I couldn’t find the max charging amperage posted anywhere, and I haven’t purchased any batteries yet.
Thanks in advance!
Hi Brian, thanks for reaching out and thank you for your patience. It would be slower rate to charge with that component. You also can find more about our batteries and their charging capabilities on the spec sheets located on the product listings. Additionally our tech team is always available to help, so feel free to give them a call at 855-292-2831 as well. Thanks again!
Hello I have a Renogy Rover 20A MPPT charge controller. Should I be using the “lithium” setting or “user” setting with my Battleborn? If user setting please tell me what parameters specifically to change. I don’t see a way to turn off equalization and I’m not sure about the over discharge return voltage and over discharge voltage. Thanks
Hi Scott, thanks for reaching out. The “user” setting will work best with our products, and our team recommends the following parameters:Renogy User Settings
Over-Voltage Warning
14.7v
Equalization Voltage
Disable or 14.4v
Boost Voltage
14.4v
Float Voltage
14.4v
Boost Return Voltage

Please let me know if you have any additional questions and have a great rest of your day!
Hi, I am looking to add a 100 Ah battery to an adventure trailer and I currently have a Noco GenPro 10×1 installed in the trailer. Have you tested this charger for compatibility? It has a Li-Ion charging mode that says it works with lithium iron phosphate batteries and only works with batteries containing a BMS. Link to product page below
https://no.co/genpro10x1
Good morning Andrew! The Noco GenPro 10×1 is indeed compatible with our batteries. If you have any additional questions please contact our sales and tech team at 855-292-2831 and have a great rest of your day!
Hello,
I am looking to swap our my four, 6V Deep Cycle batteries with one of the Battle Born 12V, 100AH battery. My family and I full time in our Outdoors RV that currently has these components:
Progressive Dynamics Power Converter System, PD4060K
Zamp Solar Charge Controller, ZS-30A
Zamp Solar Panel, 170 Watt
Both of the top two components show they are Lithium compatible and was wondering if it as simple as purchasing the battery and installing into the system or if there is more involved with the transition.
Hi Tyler, thanks for your patience and I apologize for the delay in reaching out to you. Please give our sales and tech team a call at 855-292-2831 and they will be able to walk you through the process if you are still running into any issues.
Hi have a 03-04 458 xantrax Inverter have 4 6v batteries to upgrade to your batteries do I need anything else? Thanks
Hi Brian, thanks for reaching out. Our team would love to further assess your system so please give us a call at 855-292-2831 for additional information.
Will the lower-current (and less expensive) Victron Blue Smart 5A charger work with the Battle Born 50AH LiFePo4 battery?
Hi Matt, all of our products work great with Victron components. Please give our sales and tech team a call at 855-292-2831 if you have any additional inquiries.
Will the CTEK (56-926) Lithium charger work with the Battle Born 50AH LiFePo4 battery? Slow charging is fine for my application.
Hello Matt, great question! Our team says that this charger will work with our batteries because it is lithium compatible. Please let me know if you have any additional questions and have a great rest of your afternoon.
My motorhome came with a Go Power GP-PWM-30UL solar controller. It has a lithium profile with absorpiton voltage at 14.4V but the float voltage is 14.0V. Will this higher float be okay with 2 100mah batteries? Here is a profile chart of the settings: https://support.gpelectric.com/kb/article/78-gp-pwm-30-ul-setup-operation-battery-charging-profile-chart/
If not, would the AGM setting be better with a float at 13.7V even though it has temperature compensation?
Hi Charles, thanks for reaching out and I apologize for the delay in getting back to you. You can always double check with the manufacturer or give our sales and tech team a call at 855-292-2831.
I donโt see redarc bcdc chargers on your list. The newest versions of the redarc bcdc1225d and 1240d both have lithium profiles as well as their manager30. I am instetrsted in using one of these three chargers (mostly the 1240d or manager 30) in conjunction with a 100ah battleborn for an overlanding build. I noticed the ctek question above was not recommended as the charge voltage is too low for float. Do you recommend the red arc?
Hi there! Our products do work well with Redarc components. If you have any additional questions please give our technical sales team a call at 855-292-2831. Thank you and have a great rest of your Friday!
